Improving Educational Outcomes in Alaska
Governor Mike Dunleavy is fighting for results-oriented education reform that would not just transform Alaska’s education system but also set a model for the rest of the nation. His plan will increase funding to programs that are working while expanding opportunities for students, parents, and teachers across Alaska, including:
- Open enrollment to allow students to enroll in the public school of their choice
- Increase access to public charter schools
- Provide teacher recruitment and retention bonuses
- Greater funding for successful programs like correspondence and career-technical education and incentivizing reading achievement
